30 week appointment

I had my 30 week appointment today (I'm 30w4d) and because the PA measured me at 5 weeks ahead (again, sheesh!) they had me run to the hospital for an ultrasound to measure baby. She is measuring right on schedule! THANK GOODNESS!! So today she weighs in at 3lbs 9oz and is still definitely a girl :-) She has about 3-5 lbs to gain before delivery day, so even if she gains the full 5 lbs she'll still under 9 lbs at birth. *whew*

I was JUST finally beginning to figure out how she's positioned in there, though I couldn't know for sure. It was very cool to find out I was right! She's head down, though she's been head down for every ultrasound we've had. I could tell that just because every time she gets hiccups I feel them really really low. And my belly is all lopsided because she spends so much time on the right side. Her spine is curved along my side and her little tushy is pushed up under my ribs, which is where I feel her most often. Pretty cool to actually know for sure where all the body parts are!

OH! And you'll never believe this! Mike told me today that I'm actually nicer when I'm pregnant. lol I'm guessing it's the maternal instincts though the rest of my family also agree for some reason or other, I really seem to be more rational.

And the countdown begins! (as if I hadn't been counting the days already)

30 weeks

This pregnancy really has gone by quickly! I can't believe I'm already 30 weeks! It seems to finally be slowing down, but I know time is going to fly the next 2 months as we get moved into the new house, get unpacking and start on the nursery!

We did choose a house, there was another offer on the house the same day we placed an offer. That was a rough 24 hours! Especially since it was such a tough choice between 3 homes, each house having it's strong points and deciding what was most important. The house we decided to go with is in a more affluent area, very quiet neighborhood. The basement is not finished (very common for SLC area) so there is not as much living space as the total square footage, but the floor plan is very open so it feels quite a bit bigger! I'm so excited!! We close on July 15th but the sellers are really pushing to close sooner and hoping for July 8th (all the better for us!) So that means I could potentially be in our new house in 2 weeks!!! AHH!!!

It will be so nice to finally be able to spread out a little and not be so cramped in all the "stuff" we have for such a small space. And it will be NICE to finally not be separated from my husband AGAIN. Sheesh. We have spent so much time apart in our 3.5 years of marriage it's ridiculous.

K here is my 30 week belly update! It's been awhile since I've updated on here.

Big Baby

I had my 25 week check up today and asked the doctor if he would make sure I really wasn't carrying twins (jokingly of course) because I'm so huge! My mom is SERIOUSLY concerned about this, she's had dreams that the second baby is hiding, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for her piece of mind.

I'm still confirmed to only be carrying a singlet; however, the doctor did say that I AM bigger than normal for how far along I am. Finally. It was nice to get that confirmation, I'm kinda sick of people saying "I don't think you look that big" for fear of hurting my feelings. It's annoying. And I'm also sick of "You shouldn't worry about it." I'm actually NOT worried about it, I just find it curious and slightly amusing. Anyhow, so he says I am bigger, gives me a simple explanation after reviewing my chart and then says to expect to give birth to at least an 8lb baby. Sounds like she's gonna be a big girl! Now imagine if she comes late....yikes!! I was kind of hoping for closer to 6 pounds :-) HA!

So here's 25 weeks:

23 weeks and Nesting

The baby has been kicking up a storm! I wasn't sure that I was ever going to get used to it. Every time she kicks I'd yell out with an "Oh!" which was really embarrassing in public. :-) lol But she startles me! I am finally getting better at that and am getting used to the constant flutters and movement. It's really pretty awesome :-) I do still yell out when it's a big giant kick though :-)

It's amazing how connected and bonded you feel to your baby after the kicking really begins. I am already SO in love with this child, that I get teary eyed thinking about it. It's truly amazing how my heart has grown so immensely and she is not even here yet! I can't imagine how intense that love will be when I see her for the first time.

I know a lot of people swear by the excitement of surprise, but I feel like knowing the gender of this baby actually adds to the connection I feel to her. I can just picture this little baby girl in there!

SO. I have been nesting. Big time :-) lol Our house is a huge disaster. I'm a slob. I'll admit it. The first step in moving on is admission right? :-) I was in denial for years, but I have to be honest with myself. I'm a slob. I just DID NOT inherit those immaculate clean genes from my mother. And oh do I wish I had! Anyway, my motivation has kicked into high gear! I've been doing serious deep cleaning, purging, making room and it feels good! Not the actual cleaning part, that part still sucks and now that I'm pregnant it's a lot harder to reach up high and down low and at the end of a few hours my back is killing me. But getting so much accomplished feels really good. Getting everything organized and giving everything a home, especially my kitchen. We have a Great Room house plan. Part of me loves it because I can still be involved with whatever is going on in the rest of the house while I'm cooking. You know especially around the holidays. However; the other part of me hates it. The kitchen is always the messiest room in our house (we just don't have enough cabinet space for everything, imo) so when the kitchen is messy the whole house looks messy. Even though it may already be. ;) My solution? BIGGER HOUSE!!! :-) haha

I think this is Mike's favorite part of the pregnancy :-) lol. The nesting. Me actually cleaning. It's probably a pretty funny sight to him :) BUT, I still have a TON to do. Last night I was moving stuff around (just little things!) and decided I needed a short break. I plopped on the couch and laid in Mike's lap and just like that, I burst into tears! Mike hasn't quite figured out what to do with me when I'm having a moment, usually he doesn't mean to but ends up making me laugh. That and realizing how ridiculous I am :) Anyway, I was crying because I was overwhelmed and started wailing about how I'm never going to get everything done and how there's not gonna be enough room for the baby, etc. Mike says "The baby is gonna be pretty little, I think she'll find room." lol

K back to work!

Here's my 23 week picture. It's a little easier to see the belly in the black top.

Hubby, Kicking and Shopping

I have the BEST hubby ever!!! He totally took over dinner the last two nights in a row!! He just started prepping all on his own!! Last night we had rotisserie chicken. Tonight we had slow grilled/smoked baby back ribs! Usually when we grill ribs I boil them for a couple of hours first, they're super tender that way. I was incredibly surprised at how awesome these turned out tonight!!! Incredibly tender, smokey...I was really impressed! Go hubby!! He searched for rubs and everything :)

Okay. So. Baby has been kicking the crap out of me for about 2 weeks now. I mean, like the I can see my belly jump and feel from the outside kinda kicking. And Mike has still YET to feel it!!!! She stops every single time he puts his hand on my belly. He told me that I'm either making it all up, or baby knows its her daddy and she doesn't want to kick him. :-) lol STILL. Just now she was going crazy in there and he put his hand on my belly for a few minutes and nothing. So I started pushing on my belly and he said "Stop!" I was like why? He said "You're probably smacking her in the head!!!!" LOL oh my gosh that totally cracked me up!!

REGISTERING. It has been a royal pain in my kungdangy (Korean for tushy, ? on sp) I had no idea it would be so stressful. Spending that kind of money (which I've never had a problem doing before!!!) is turning me into a practical shopper. SO WEIRD. I want so so so badly for everything to be pink and girly, but at the cost of some of these items I feel like I need to be practical and buy gender neutral things to use with our next child. I KNOW there's no way we'll have all girls. Have you met the Warrens? 99% of them are men. Anyway, I started my registry pretty early for two reasons. Once I realized how long it was going to take me to read the millions of reviews and come to a decision on ONE product, I knew I needed quite a bit of time to consider every item. I had no idea I would care SO much about which things best stimulate the baby and was just unaware of how many different safety ratings and features EVERY item has. And to add my own personal preference on top of that. Sheesh. However; I am unemployed and had 24/7 to read these reviews. Plus I would skype my mom and sit online forever picking and choosing. That is after I harassed every friend I have with little kids for advice and personal reviews (after doing research first).

So with the help of a million people, their suggestions and after a TON of research, I actually finished with my registry sooner than I expected. And I am RELIEVED!!! Now all the thinking is over and I can just go off my list to purchase items gradually, feeling satisfied with my research. Hard part is over! *phew* I did make Mike sit with me for a couple of hours and narrow down a couple of items I just couldn't make up my mind on. But thank goodness I'm done! That was wayyy more stressful than I ever realized it would be! Now I just get to clean and start the fun part of decorating the nursery! Yay!!! We looked at paint colors today and I think I have it narrowed down to about 4 different shades.

RANDOM THOUGHT. I totally scored a pair of kids shoes for $3 tonight!! For me :-) It was just Walmart, but for $3 I can totally wear them out and they were super comfy!

K, I think that's it for tonight.

Here's my 22 week shot. (Well 22 weeks tomorrow) My face is slightly swollen today, plus I'm not wearing any foundation so all you can see are my freckles. I'm totally breaking out and trying not to wear so much makeup. So basically what I'm trying to say is...Just check out the belly and ignore the hideous mug!! :)

Things our husbands say :)

I'm putting dinner away tonight and notice Mike looking at me. I turn to look at him and he says "Your tummy is sticking out almost as far as your boobs are!!!"

lol Thanks. Thanks, honey, for that observation :) That totally cracked me up!

21 week Ultrasound

We had a second ultra sound today to confirm gender. Baby is still a girl! :)

We got some cuter pictures this time, a couple weeks ago we got the kinda scary ones of the face :-) I asked for a profile picture. She said it was kinda tough because baby is still head down/face down, but we got it!
Profile at a slight angle.

This one is a profile with her mouth slightly opened and more straight on.

I can feel the baby practically 24/7 now! She is a very active baby!!! So it was pretty cool to feel the movements and see it on the screen at the same time. I think she's doing a lot more punching than kicking!

We got a cute picture of her little tushy :) lol It totally cracks me up. So this view is of the bottom of her foot to the left, and her tushy to the right :)

The baby had one hand wrapped around her tushy! Like she was sitting on her little fingers :) lol Too funny!! The tech said this was the first time she's ever seen that! She said she's seen babies with their hands under their knees but never actually on their little tushy. lol I was like "Oh good, leave it to our kid" :).

90% Chance that Baby is a ..............!!!

Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a girl! It's a girl! It's a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!! We go back in two weeks to confirm, but the technician said she's 90% sure!

It was amazing that she could identify every single organ and measure everything. Baby was very wiggly and was moving around the entire time so it was hard to find the girl parts. We actually got up and checked out without having a confirmation :( and then she realized she forgot to measure something and we had to go back in. So Mike says "Maybe the baby is in a different position since Sylvia got up." She checked again and we got a pretty clear view!! 90% sure we have a girl :-) And you should have SEEN the look on Mike's face!!! I haven't laughed so hard in awhile, he actually looked petrified!!!!

It was sooooo cute!!! Baby had her lips open the whole time, just a little "oh" and she kept putting her hands up by her face and we actually saw her stick all 4 fingers in her mouth!! Her little thumb was sticking out. lol Sovfunny!

I can't wait to start shopping and picking out paint! I've already got my mind set on doing plum colored walls (maybe just one wall?), so I just need to pick out a shade I really like, preferably not super dark.

We didn't get any profile pictures of the baby, she was moving around too much, but we finally got a view of her face, a foot and her girl parts! So pictures to come very very soon! And a matching baby bump. It's huge y'all! I kid not. I'm terrified.

Girl parts. Thats her little tushy to the left and her legs sticking straight out towards the right. The three little white lines in the middle means its a girl :-)

Whew

I'm already all out of breath with an uncomfy tummy. LOL I can't even imagine what it'll be like in a couple months. I had no idea carrying around a tummy would be this much work!

So I wore this sweater today and it makes me look HUGE!!! I just had to share because it's kinda funny. I'm only 4 months and I look way farther along than that in this shirt. I don't look quite this big in person, it'll probably take another 2 months before I look like that naked.

15 weeks

Two nights ago I had a dream that I was able to open my tummy whenever I wanted, pull the baby out and cuddle, love and kiss on him/her whenever I wanted!!! That is when I realized I am totally in love with this baby. It was hard to put baby back in my tummy but I knew it was best because baby would be exposed to germs way too early and still had lots of growing to do! But baby would cry everytime I did. And, in my dream, I was SO tempted to see what gender the baby was, but I was good and didn't peak. LOL

It still doesn't feel real that it's a REAL baby in there. I can feel movement every once in awhile and every once in awhile it just hits me. And my tummy is definitely growing (which is freaking me out that its getting big so early, I'm gonna be HUGE!!!!), and I get to hear the heartbeat whenever I want.....but somehow it just doesn't seem possible that there could be a BABY in there.

And I am SO SO SO SO SO SO SO excited that one of my friends from high school just found out she's pregnant too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm laughing at myself because of how excited I am! I know so many girls that are pregnant with me that it's just crazy and amazing. So many girls to share stories with and so many in a close circle of friends, it's unreal. It's really neat knowing that these children will all get to grow up "together" though mostly long distance. However; for some reason, I'm SO super excited about this one in particular :) :) :) YAY!!!!!!!!

I Wasn't Kidding!!

Okay, so I knew my belly was suddenly hard and bigger, but I didn't realize by how much until I took a picture and compared!!! I do think the picture makes the baby bump look a little bigger than real life, but it's a good enough idea!

You girls weren't kidding when you said it'd appear overnight! lol

Baby!!!

And another random post just to say I feel baby moving!!!!!!!!!!! Last night and today like CRAZY!! For definitely real! It's the strangest coolest thing ever.

The best way for me to describe it is this: You know when you have an eye twitch, or muscle twitch/spasm? It feels JUST like that except on the inside!!!! And then last night I felt this "pop" and thought NO WAY. I can't POSSIBLY feel the baby kicking yet, it's wayyyyy to early for that, right?? But what on earth else could it possibly have been? I can't wait to feel it again! Craziness!

This whole baby thing still doesn't seem quite real!!

Surprise?

I always imagined that I would find out the gender of baby when that time came. I just can't imagine having enough patience to wait, knowing that option is available! Plus all the practical reasons: shopping for gender neutral clothes is not as easy or as readily available, gender specific is wayyyyyyy cuter, and financially it makes more sense. You can purchase gender specific items as you go instead of spending a ton of money all at once. I have the feeling the medical bills will sort of take over the budget at that point. That and diapers! Plus a baby shower would probably be more fun with a gender in mind, not to mention the ease of shopping for everyone else. Listen to me even mentioning a possible shower :) LOL

Anyway, I said all that to lead up to this. Mike has been on the fence about wanting to find out from the beginning. This really surprised me!! I had no idea he would feel that way, I'm not sure that he did either. So I kept thinking, I have so many weeks to talk him into it, right? Well now I have days that I think maybeeeeeee I could do it. Maybe I could wait. Maybe it would be fun to find out the old fashioned way.

But then I think about decorating the nursery. If it's a girl....I want it to be PINK. I LOVE pink and frilly girly things. I cannot imagine a nursery for a girl that's not super duper girly. I don't feel so strongly about a nursery for a boy. I could go with frogs or monkeys or dogs or sports in green or blue or brown.

So I'm very undecided. I have 2 friends that waited or are waiting. And was told by someone else very close to me that it was a lot more fun finding out in the delivery room with the one child than finding out with the others. My mom and Mike want to wait.

So maybe I could find a nursery theme that will compliment pink just in case?

The other funny thing is, I really really had this feeling that baby is a boy until I started coming up with names. Now I'm not so sure. And Mike seems to think that it's a girl :)

Baby's Heartbeat!

I had my 2nd appointment today, at 13 weeks! YAY for 2nd trimester!!!
Anyway, I got to hear the baby's heartbeat at 160bpm!

12 Weeks!

Countdown to 2nd trimester...One week!! :-)

I swear I felt baby movement yesterday. I did read that you could feel baby as early as 12 weeks, though most mom's don't realize that the sensation is baby and it's harder for first time mom's to recognize the feeling. I just felt a really weird fluttering in my belly. :-)

And I still have just the teeniest baby bump. Really I just look a lot thicker like my entire torso has expanded. I'll probably post another pic next week since I'll have my next appointment then.

Yay!!!! First Ultrasound!

So I had my big OB appointment this morning. They violated the crap out of me but it was all worth it to get to see the baby in there!! :) Unbelievable!

I have to admit, I started getting teary eyed as soon as I stepped foot in the lobby. Mike laughed at me, as usual :-) And then as soon as the ultrasound picture popped up boy did the water works start up! And then I laughed at myself for crying so much and when I did the baby started moving like crazy!!! Which made me cry and giggle simultaneously :) It was just....SURREAL.

Here's the ultrasound of little baby Warren :)

It's not twins!! SO I don't have to punch anybody :-)

Annnddddd....I totally didn't think I was going to post this but I decided it would be fun to see the progression of the baby belly to go with every ultrasound. It's kinda just gross and embarrassing :( But whatever! There's a baby in there :) :) :)

Feeling Fat and Wanting Korean Food

So everything I've been reading has been saying that my clothes should start feeling tight already even though there's no sign of a baby bump. I thought that was silly. Until last night.

Mike and I went out to dinner and I realized that this was the first time I've tried to put on jeans in a couple of weeks. I've been wearing my brown cargo pants just because they're loose and comfy every time I leave the house (which hasn't been often). When I put my jeans on, Mike was standing there watching me and he had this smirk on his face!!! lol I'm pretty sure I punched him :) Then he says "I don't think you're supposed to be wearing anything too tight". Thanks honey. So I went through a couple pairs of jeans before I found a pair that fit enough to go out. I think my brown cargo pants will be my best friend for the next couple weeks and it seems I may need to go get another pair. *sigh*

So the in between stage. No evidence of a baby bump (way too early!!) and yet the clothes are already snug. This leaves a barely preggo girl feeling super fat :(

Moving on.

I had another super weird dream last night.

Have you ever dreamed about someone you don't even really know? I did. I know this girl from a distance (in Lawton), she's half Korean also and we share several mutual friends. I'm not sure I've ever actually been formally introduced to her. In my dream, her mom called me and asked if she could make me a feast of Korean food on Feb 12! HECK YES!!

So I woke up thinking about this girl I don't even know and wanting some serious Korean food. I think I'm gonna have get over the cooking smells and make myself Korean food for dinner.

Pork

Food Aversion of the week: Pork and Chicken

Tonight I made pork. Cooking it was fine but as soon as I sunk my teeth in it was over. And then watching hubby eat it?? It was too much. Uggghhh
