Crib

I was SO incredibly frustrated because I had ordered our crib and was told it would be shipped no later than May 30th. June rolls around and I realize I have not received a shipment notice so look up the shipping status to see that they've changed the ship out date to Nov 15th!!!! Ummmmm baby will be a couple months old by then!!! So I search online to see if anyone else has this crib so that I can order it, and everyone had it on backorder for November. I was SO frustrated because I'd ordered everything to go with it (toddler rail kit, mattress, custom size changing mattress, etc) all at once and it was over the 30 day return policy for every item. One company was very nice and allowed me to return the toddler rail kit and it cost me $25 to ship it back. I was pretty annoyed.

My mom and I got online a few days later and picked out another crib and nursery set, so I've had it in my queue to order as soon as we moved into the new house. Well Mike and I went to Babies 'R Us today and guess what they had out on the floor??? Yup, my crib!!! Which annoyed me further because when I'd looked online it said out of stock so I returned that stupid rail kit! Anyway, turns out we scored a great deal, so it all worked out!

They had one of them in the clearance section because it didn't have a box and apparently everything was an additional 25% off today. We got to the check out and I remembered that I also had a 20% off coupon! We TOTALLY got this awesome crib for $175 off!!! SCORE!!!!! And they agreed to hold it for us until the closing date, so this totally ended up working out. Except that now I'm out $25 with no toddler conversion rail kit.

HUGE relief to know I'll have a crib, and super awesome that I got a great deal on the one I'd originally ordered!

YAY!

30 week appointment

I had my 30 week appointment today (I'm 30w4d) and because the PA measured me at 5 weeks ahead (again, sheesh!) they had me run to the hospital for an ultrasound to measure baby. She is measuring right on schedule! THANK GOODNESS!! So today she weighs in at 3lbs 9oz and is still definitely a girl :-) She has about 3-5 lbs to gain before delivery day, so even if she gains the full 5 lbs she'll still under 9 lbs at birth. *whew*

I was JUST finally beginning to figure out how she's positioned in there, though I couldn't know for sure. It was very cool to find out I was right! She's head down, though she's been head down for every ultrasound we've had. I could tell that just because every time she gets hiccups I feel them really really low. And my belly is all lopsided because she spends so much time on the right side. Her spine is curved along my side and her little tushy is pushed up under my ribs, which is where I feel her most often. Pretty cool to actually know for sure where all the body parts are!

OH! And you'll never believe this! Mike told me today that I'm actually nicer when I'm pregnant. lol I'm guessing it's the maternal instincts though the rest of my family also agree for some reason or other, I really seem to be more rational.

And the countdown begins! (as if I hadn't been counting the days already)

30 weeks

This pregnancy really has gone by quickly! I can't believe I'm already 30 weeks! It seems to finally be slowing down, but I know time is going to fly the next 2 months as we get moved into the new house, get unpacking and start on the nursery!

We did choose a house, there was another offer on the house the same day we placed an offer. That was a rough 24 hours! Especially since it was such a tough choice between 3 homes, each house having it's strong points and deciding what was most important. The house we decided to go with is in a more affluent area, very quiet neighborhood. The basement is not finished (very common for SLC area) so there is not as much living space as the total square footage, but the floor plan is very open so it feels quite a bit bigger! I'm so excited!! We close on July 15th but the sellers are really pushing to close sooner and hoping for July 8th (all the better for us!) So that means I could potentially be in our new house in 2 weeks!!! AHH!!!

It will be so nice to finally be able to spread out a little and not be so cramped in all the "stuff" we have for such a small space. And it will be NICE to finally not be separated from my husband AGAIN. Sheesh. We have spent so much time apart in our 3.5 years of marriage it's ridiculous.

K here is my 30 week belly update! It's been awhile since I've updated on here.

SLC Update!

I'm so clever with my subject titles!

Okay SO.

BABY STUFF:

I went to my new OB/GYN today and think I'm gonna love it. I checked all the info on the birthing center at the hospital and it just seems like a perfect fit! They are dedicated to the breastfeeding cause and pledge to bring baby to momma within the first hour after birth to attempt breastfeeding. They also refrain from use of pacifiers and bottles while you and baby learn to breastfeed.

I have also SO been into the whole natural waterbirth plan now that I have options and completely forgot to ask the doc about it today. And it didn't even dawn on me until right this very minute! :(

Anyway, the doc was really nice and said that if I was in town and just wanted to randomly stop by for a visit that I was more than welcome to drop in and see him. I just might have to argue with the front desk, but he would be more than happy to tell them he'll see me :-) I LOVE that! lol

Also, doc says that I am measuring big. Which I sort of knew from my last appointment, but he says at my next appointment that we will either do the ultrasound or schedule the ultrasound to check baby's measurements and sort of see from there. My fundal height was 33cm which means I'm measuring at an entire month ahead.

HOUSE STUFF:

I think we've narrowed down the house hunt to 4 houses. So we're going to revisit those 4 homes tomorrow and will just make a decision. This trip was a lot more productive as far as seeing homes we'd actually consider than the last one. I'm pretty excited just to get stuff started so we can get moved in! I think Mike is sick of hotel living and I'm sick of being apart. Plus I'm gonna have to start making that 4 hour drive every 2 weeks for my doc appointments. That'll be fun. So we're both pretty anxious to get in a house and are relieved that we've found a few we really like.

The stressful part is choosing. There are 2 that we absolutely love, but we have to pick and choose the positives and negatives. They run pretty even so we have to decide which ones are more important. Of course, we have different priorities: kitchen vs garage, master bed & bath vs mancave, finished basement size and floorplan vs private amenities, etc. :-)

Anyway, maybe we'll have some more solid news by tomorrow! Well, maybe a week after our offer is accepted! :-)

YAY!
